All skill levels

Marlene has found a technique she would like to share with you 18 lucky members in her upcoming class. It was quite the hit at a recent retreat!  Bonus! Another type of Log Cabin Block in case you are still deciding on what to do for your Challenge piece.

Below are two examples that she has created using the Pattern Paper Roses by Allison Quilt Designs.  We will have the pattern available for you use during the class and it will then become part of our club’s library.  Should you like to have your own copy we found it online at Quilter’s Warehouse.  It is an older pattern but, may very well be able to be ordered for you by your favorite local quilt shop.
Marlene will be teaching the technique for creating the roses.  You may choose to make a few to create a table-topper or even just one or two to make a hot pad or two.     Although..... You may be hooked and decide to make several and create an entire quilt.

Here are the fabric material requirements for both a Throw and a Twin sized quilt.

If wanting to make only one or two blocks bring 7 - 9 tonal / coordinated fabrics or scraps which will be cut in strips 1 1/2” to 1 5/8” wide as well as fabric for the hexagon centers which are slightly larger than 3”.  A 7 1/2” square of lightweight non-fusible interfacing is needed for each rose.

Additional requirements : thread to match your project, typical quilting supplies as well as a sewing machine in good working order.
