PebbleCreek Quilters

PebbleCreek Quilters Board Meeting
August 10, 2020

Ronda called the meeting to order at 11:30am via Zoom.

Attendees:  Ronda Jones, Roberta Penchina, Marka Locker, Carol Moonan, Patsy Wagner, Cheryl Skummer, Sandy Crabtree and Linda Rowe.

The room is just about finished.  The new cabinets are taller, so the display quilt racks on top of the cabinets need to be cut off and made shorter.  The woodworkers will do this.
Any items needing to be purchased needs to go through Liz Gray.  This includes larger equipment/ higher value items.  This does not include fabric.  The three ring binder in 104C has an inventory list for each cabinet.  New items purchased will be added to this.
The CAC will allow classes again with restrictions.  Class size limited to 8.  Those previously signed up will have priority.  Instructors must be club members.

Karen Bogadi is willing to do a class on threads and needles on Sep. 1 at 10am.  About an hour long.
Wendy Gilbert was scheduled to teach Wonky Trees.  Sandy will check with her.
George Wagner is willing to do a Go Cutter class on Sep 8, 10 – 12.
Judy Frank and Patsy Wagner are putting together a class on making the Zippy Strippy Bag.  Possibly a zoom class?

We are investigating an online format to use for future meetings.  Recommendation for Zoom rather than Google Meet.  Ronda will investigate further before making a decision about purchasing a plan.

Go Cutter has released a Die for making a face mask at $70 each.  The board decided not to purchase.
Patsy gave mask count as 7626 from our club.

Longarm procedures:  Roberta will re-certify several people at a time doing a charity quilt.  Machine is working very well right now, with the exception of horizontal and vertical hold.  Calendar is fully booked.

Marka suggested and we discussed the possibility of allowing board and committee members to remain in their positions an additional year if they wish.  (Not counting 2020).  To follow the bylaws, we would need to put this to a vote to the general membership for approval.

Patsy brought up the problem of backing fabric for the charity quilts.  She would like to purchase some extra wide backing from TJs.  Also suggested buying a bolt of black and white to use with piecing.  The board approved this, to use some of the $2999 funds received as donations from masks.

Cheryl moved and Roberta seconded the motion to adjourn at 12:08pm.

Respectfully submitted,
Carol Moonan
