FARMER'S WIFE SEW ALONG
Several members have expressed interest in participating in a Farmer's Wife Sew-Along. Millissa Masters and Barb Maurer have graciously agreed to co-chair this group. So, hold onto your sewing needle, you're about to have some fun!
HOW MANY CAN BE IN THE GROUP AND WHAT WILL YOU DO?
Millissa and Barb's vision is to gather a group of 18 like-minded individuals to create a fun, interactive format where all participants are part of the planning and presenting of blocks using today's modern, piecing techniques. So, expect to participate by 1) sewing and 2) planning & presenting a block or two.
This quilt is made up of 111, 6 1/2 - inch blocks. The color choices and final layouts vary drastically! The beauty of the Farmer's Wife is the ability to create a quilt in your own style. We have found traditional as well as modern interpretations. All are beautiful!
WHAT YOU NEED TO DO TO JOIN THE GROUP
To join this group, you will need to:
1.Register online at http://www.pebblecreekquilters.org/register----pay.html
Because this is a sewing group, the group will be limited to a maximum of 18. A wait list will be available if that number is exceeded.
2.Commit to leading at least 1 session. Basically, show the group how you put together a block.
3.Purchase the Farmer's Wife Sampler Quilt Book. You will find it on Amazon for about $19-$20.
WHEN WILL THE GROUP MEET?
The initial meeting is set up for Thursday, February 23. The group will meet at 12:30-4:00 in the Fiber Arts Room.
WHAT WILL YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE INITIAL MEETING?
The initial meeting will be co-chaired by Millissa Masters and Barb Maurer. During this first meeting, you will decide as a group:
1.The best time to meet and how often.
2.The blocks that will be presented during each session and who will present each block.
3.The best way to share your beautiful creations.
