Jean Fry called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.
The February 2019 General meeting minutes stand approved as posted. 

President:   Jean Fry
The Ritter Ranch Quilt Retreat is in Sierra Vista.  July Schedule is the 11th-15th.  

Quilts of Valor (Cynthia Schwartz and Rosemary Stoker): Our goal for this year is 20 quilts.  There will be more information to come. 

The April Meeting is the 3rd Monday of April.  Doors open @ 11:00.  Luncheon is at Noon.  Next year’s quilt challenge will be introduced at the luncheon. 

The Opportunity Quilt will be displayed at the Spring luncheon. 

We passed the fire inspection.  

Dresses from the Heart is a service project to donate dresses for Operation Christmas Child, with dresses made going to children in need from many different countries.  We will be working on these on March 27th, 4-8pm  during the sewing time with Pam, (headed up by Pam Branfuhr and Geri Johnson). Kits will be available. 

Luke Air Force Base has asked for a quilt to be donated for their scholarship fund.  The board voted yes and Judy Frank and Marlene Kuskie will choose a quilt from those we already have made for the donation.

New Members:  Discount coupons available to Bob’s discount and Mulqueens.

Spring Luncheon is April 15th.  April 4th is the last day for reservations and paying the check for the luncheon.  Agri Fria Food Bank Donations will be taken and then donated.   Karen Bogadi will do a Bed Turning.

Membership now stands at 172.

March 25th : Karen Rubsam and Linda Rowe – Gadgets Sharing 4-6 pm.  Snacks provided.  Room open until 8:00.
April 2nd:  Cathy Howell - Sew Together Bag
April 3rd from 1-4:  Pam Branfuhr – Iron Caddy, Jr.
April 15th and 22nd  4-7 pm:  Erma Taylor – Spicy Spiral Table Runner 

We are looking for someone to do quilting 101. 

Community Service:  Judy Frank

March 16th – Joni Reynertson will teach an easy block for quilts for hospice of AZ. The goal is to make 5 quilt tops.  

17 kids quilt tops were made in Feb.  Four of the seventeen have been quilted. 

April 20 is the next general sew day for donating items. 

Adopt a quilts are available.  The box will be available at each meeting.

Long Arm: Roberta Penchina:
The new envelope payment system is working.  Please remember to check off the method of payment (check or cash).  Payments get put into the clear plastic envelope in the tray where the envelopes are found in the long arm cabinet.  If you are having problems with the machine, it is best to send to all of the members on the committee in case one of us in not available. 

Publicity: Marlene Kuskie:
Marlene will be putting together a brochure to highlight our good works and what we do in our guild. 

We will be working on holiday items over the summer for sales. 

Social:  Linda Rowe, Karen Rubsam:
St. Patrick’s Day Fun was provided.
March 22nd is the Mesa, AZ quilt show.
We are working on the centerpieces, door prizes and placeholders for the luncheon. 

Librarian:  Liz Gray
She is condensing and reorganizing the collection in the cupboard.

Webmaster:  Ronda Jones No report 

Display Window:  Cynthia Schwartz
35 quilts in the main windows for the “Hexie” display.  Great work, ladies!  We will be taking these down by the end of March. 
April window – Springtime – Looking for contributions with Bunnies, etc.


Veteran’s Quilts: Cynthia Schwartz and Rosemary Stoker No Report 

Opportunity Quilt: Chris Booth has volunteered to head up sales for the quilt. This will be displayed at the Spring Luncheon. 

Next documentation is the 2nd Friday of April.  This is the last one until next year.  If you have a quilt and want it documented, let Donna Wisnoski know and she will get it scheduled.  

Challenge quilt: This will be introduced at the luncheon in April. 


The Sewing room is closed March 22nd and 23rd – Art Walk for Fine Arts 


Chris Booth will set up a Trash to Treasure on March 30th from 9-11.  Contact her if you want a table.
