BOARD MEETING
MARCH 6, 2017 

BOARD MEMBERS PRESENT: 

Chris Booth, Iris Weise, JoEllen Cruze, Karen Bogadi, Judy Frank, Linda Publicover, Pam Branfuhr, Liz Gray. 

Also Present:  Ronda Jones, Webmaster and Nancy Treece, Emeritus. 


President Chris Booth called the meeting to order at 9:00 am.  The Board minutes of February 6, 2017, stand as posted.  

VICE PRESIDENT:

 Iris said the Spring Luncheon will be held April 17th.  The menu selections will include a southwest chicken wrap or a Greek salad with chicken.  The cost will be $15 per person.  The speaker has not yet been chosen. 

The completed Gravity quilt will be presented to Choices Pregnancy Center.  The cost of the meal for the guest from CPC will be covered by the Guild.  


TREASURER: 

JoEllen stated we have $14,555 in the treasury.  The long arm long range fund has $4,700.  

PROGRAMS: 

The committee members were not present; however they had presented Chris with a list of items.  Watch the web site for many programs to be offered.  

COMMUNITY SERVICE: 

21 quilts were delivered to various charities in February.  Many completed tops need to be quilted.  The long arm will be available evenings for those wanting to use it for those charity quilts.  ( Day times are filled.)  There will be a workshop March 18, “Red, White and Blue Quilts”.  

LONG ARM: 

Linda stated that 13 charity and 12 personal quilts had been done on the long arm in February.  She has written some tips for Pantograph use which will be posted on line as well as in the long arm cabinet.  

PUBLICITY:  Karen said $332 was collected at the parking lot sale for the Opportunity Quilt.  Thanks to Jan Johnson and those who sold tickets.  

SALES:  Pam said there were no sales in the Gallery in February for the quilters.   There is a need for the following items to sell:  placemats, napkins, and rug mugs. 

SOCIAL:  No report.
LIBIARIAN:  No Report.
DISPLAY WINDOW:  No Report.
HISTORIAN:  No Report.


SPECIAL REPORTS: 
DOCUMENTATION PROJECT: 

There will be a documentation day this Friday, March 10th.  About 8 to 10 quilts will be accepted. 


The CHALLENGE QUILTS for this year are currently displayed in the windows. 
 

UNFINISHED BUSINESS:  Iris proposed that the Guild pay approximately $2 per member for the luncheon, not to exceed $500.  Karen seconded the motion.  It was approved.  

Ronda has not been receiving pictures from the classes to post on the web site.  Teachers will be asked to send them to her.  She will contact Kathleen for pictures of the challenge quilts. 
 

NEW BUSINESS:  A gentleman in the community has offered the fabric from his wife’s stash (she recently passed away) to be purchased by the Guild or Guild members.  Ronda moved that we purchase the fabric for $250 to $300.  Linda seconded the motion.  It was approved.  

Chris brought up the idea to sell copies of our recent cookbook in the Gallery.  There are already three different cookbooks for sale there, so another one probably would not sell well.  

The General Meeting will be held on March 13th in the Tuscany Falls Ballroom.

The next Board Meeting will be April 3rd at 9:00am.  

Karen moved the meeting be adjourned.  Iris seconded.  Chris adjourned the meeting at 9:45am.
