BOARD MEMBERS PRESENT: Chris Booth, Iris Weise, Helen Phillips, JoEllen Cruze, Karen Bogadi, Linda Shaver, Pam Murphy, Linda Publicover, Joanne Kraatz, and Mary Sheldon.
Also present: Webmaster Ronda Jones, and Nancy Treece, Emeritus
Chris Booth called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m. The October 2, 2017 Board meeting minutes stand approved as posted.
REPORTS OF OFFICERS AND STANDING COMMITTEES:
President: No report.
Vice President: Iris Weise reported Christmas luncheon reservations are being made through PayPal. Discount cards for Bob’s Variety will be picked up and available at the general meeting.
Secretary: No report.
Treasurer: JoEllen Cruze stated the current balance is $12,491. There is currently $5,500 in the long arm fund, and $2,300 in savings. Treasurer’s report is available on the website.
Programs/Education: Linda Shaver reported Cathy Howell conducted a “Steampunk Quilt Workshop” on October 6.
Jackie Droncheff taught a hand appliqué class using the freezer paper technique on October 24.
Carolyn Rider will be teaching a raw edge appliqué technique at the November 28 skill builders’ class.
Karen Bogadi will teach the final pinhead class, “Funky Chicken,” that can be used for the log cabin challenge piece on November 30.
Millissa Masters and Barb Maurer are working on regrouping the Farmer’s Wife group.
Community Service: A jelly roll race will held on November 11 from 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Chris Booth reported 30 breast cancer pillows were made on October 25 and there are now 70 pillows available for distribution.
Judy Frank will be in the fiber arts room on Wednesday evenings to work on placemats for the Gallery.
Ronda Jones reported there are 18 dog beds ready to go. Mary Sheldon collects fabric scraps for the dog beds and stores them at her residence.
Long Arm: Linda Publicover reported minor adjustments have been made to the long arm.
Publicity: No report.
Sales: Chris Booth reported three sets of napkins and placemats were placed in the Gallery.
Social: A Halloween social was held on October 31 at the Oasis Pool area and it was a wonderful place to gather.
Librarian: No report.
Historian: No report.
Webmaster: Ronda Jones reported GoDaddy advised there is an additional security issue on website. That modification will be made by GoDaddy.
Display Window: Chris Booth mentioned the large display window became available for November so the Opportunity Quilt will be placed in that display window.
Veteran’s Day Quilts: Ronda Jones reported 25 quilts have been documented and assigned to the veterans receiving quilts at the PebbleCreek Veterans’ Day Program at 2:00 p.m. on November 11. The $5 program fee has been waived for the honorees and presenters. Pictures will be taken and an article will be submitted to the paper.
Quilt Show: No report
Challenge Quilt: No report.
Documentation: No report.
Opportunity Quilt: Karen Bogadi reported tickets for the Opportunity Quilt sold on October 6 and 7 at Sun Valley Quilts totaled $160, and on October 21 at 35th Avenue totaled $159. Tickets will be sold on November 18 at Arizona Quilts and on December 2 at the PebbleCreek Arts and Craft Fair.
Chris Booth reported Cindy Santoro will be quilting the 2018 Opportunity Quilt with Jean Fry’s assistance.
Slate of Officers for 2018. Chris Booth thanked Nancy Treece and Erma Taylor for serving on the nominating committee for the 2018 slate of officers.
Chris Booth mentioned that our Bylaws state, “The officers of PebbleCreek Quilters … will be elected for a 1 year term not to exceed two (2) terms for the same office….” Linda Shaver motioned with respect to the long arm that Linda Publicover be allowed to serve a third term as Chairman of the Long Arm Committee. Karen Bogadi seconded the motion. After discussion, the motion carried.
Nancy Treece, on behalf of the Nominating Committee, submitted the following slate of officers for 2018.

Chris Booth noted that the 2018 President will ask members to serve on the special committees. The 2018 chairpersons may ask members to serve on their committees.
Linda Shaver moved the meeting be adjourned, and Karen Bogadi seconded. Board members approved.
