BOARD MEETING
November 5, 2018 

BOARD MEMBERS PRESENT:  Chris Booth, JoEllen Cruz, Judy Frank,  Linda Publicover, Kathy Brown and Lynn Hupp
COMMITTEE MEMBERS PRESENT:  Roberta Penchina, Irene Lukes, Pam Branfuhr, Judy Frank, Liz Gray,
Also present:  Webmaster Ronda Jones, and Linda Shaver, Emeritus 

Chris Booth called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m.  The October 1, 2018 Board meeting minutes stand approved as posted. 

REPORTS OF OFFICERS AND STANDING COMMITTEES: 

President:  No report. 

Vice President:  President reported in her absence that the Holiday Luncheon information is on the website available to make reservations. 

Secretary:  No report.  Linda Shaver took the minutes in the absence of Helen Phillips. 

Treasurer:  JoEllen Cruze stated the current balance is $13,144.  Treasurer’s report is available on the website.  Receiving many 2019 dues and Holiday luncheon payments.  President added that we are looking for someone to do the annual audit of the books. 

Programs/Education: Kathy Brown reported that a Disappearing 4 Patch class, taught by Diane Johnson, was held on October 30.  A Hexagon class, taught by Joni Reynertson,  is being offered for November 27 as well as a two session Curvy Pieced Table Runner class November 29.  The second session of that class will be quilting the runner to be held on December 6.  Both led my Diane Rottman. Signup is available on the website. 

Community Service:  Judy Frank reported the goal for the Hope Bag sewing day was to complete 30 bags, 35 were finished.  12 quilts were delivered in October  to Hospice of the Valley, 9 quilts to Ryan’s House and 7 dog beds were delivered.   

Long Arm:  No Report 

Publicity:  Two articles in the current PebbleCreek Post. 

Sales:  Request for sets of 4 placemat and table runners sets has been received from The Gallery.  Kits will be ready for members to pick up at our November General meeting.  Pam is delivering Adult bibs for sale today. 

Social:  President Chris Booth report for Mary Sheldon that the Halloween Social held at the Oasis pool was a success with about 30 members in attendance.  She will be working on items for the Holiday Luncheon. 

Librarian:  Liz Gray asked that members remember to check our library for resources.  Many great books and patterns there. 

Historian:  No Report 

Webmaster:  Ronda Jones reported that she is having computer issues and asks for patience with any glitches as she works through it. 

Display Window:  Antique machines on display for the month of November.  Machines on loan from Emery Whaples and Wendy Gilbert, toy machines from Linda Shaver. 

SPECIAL COMMITTEES 

Veteran’s Quilts:  24 PebbleCreek Veteran’s will be honored with a quilt at the ceremony on November 11.  Liz Gray reported that she is making final calls to confirm details with the recipients.  6 names have been submitted to her for next year’s presentation.  Several quilts are completed and ready for 2019. 

Opportunity Quilt: We have dates to sell tickets at Sun Valley Quilts (Nov. 9th) and at 35th Avenue on the 16th and 17th. Tickets will also be sold at the upcoming Desert Fest.  A discussion ensued concerning new avenues for selling tickets.  Ronda will explore online sales through our website as well as utilizing PebbleCreek publications. 

Documentation:  No Report 

UNFINISHED BUSINESS: 

Ronda Jones, Nominating Committee announced the slate of officers to be nominated for the 2019 Board.

The announcement will be made at the November meeting.  Voting and installation to be held at the Holiday luncheon December meeting. 

NEW BUSINESS: 

12 - 14 Christmas and Hanukkah quilts will be hung in the CAC hallways for the Holiday season the last week of November and will remain there through the month of December.  Help will be needed with hanging them - a request will be made at the upcoming General meeting. 

The Annual Jeremy Chandler Scholarship Auction will be held at Augie’s Restaurant this coming Saturday evening, November 10.  The Veteran’s Program is Sunday, November 11. 

The Art Walk will be using the CAC November 17 and 18th.  The Fiber Arts Room will not be available for use on these dates. 

Chris Booth noted the membership meeting will be held on November 12, 2018 at 7:00 p.m., with a social beginning at 6:30 p.m., in the Coyote Room. 

The next board meeting will be held on December 3, 2018 at 9:00 a.m. in the Diamondback Room. 

Kathy Brown moved the meeting be adjourned, and Pam Branfuhr seconded.  Motion approved.
