PebbleCreek Quilters

CYNTHIA SCHWARTZ - WITCHES, RAVENS & BATS! - 44" X 60" - Machine pieced, machine quilted and designed by Cynthia from Missing 4 Square.  I love Halloween! Witches, skeletons, spider, ravens, and bats. Thank you PC Quilters for offering a Disappearing 4 Square Class where I learned how to create this quilt.

MICHELLE MCKEE - CHEVRON BATIK - 42" x 45" - Machine pieced by Michelle McKee.  Machine quilted by Gail Kerlagon.  This was a class I took in California  at Quilty Pleasure quilt store .  They passed out the pattern which I no longer have.
I made this pattern because I wanted to use the blue baticks . It was a challenging pattern at the time.

BEVERLY MITCHELL - CHINESE COINS - 76" x 99" - Machine quilted by Cheryl Clinksdale, designed Unknown.  This is my first full size quilt.  I spent more hours shopping for coordinated fabrics that I spent doing the piecing.  I didn't like the quilt pattern on the border, so I took out all of the stitches and replaced them with straight lines.

LINDA DANIELSON - SCRAPPY NEST QUILT- 60" x 75" - Machine Pieced by Linda Danielson.  Designed by Shawn York of Rust Crow Quilt Shop.  Picked up the pattern at the Quilt Show a couple of years ago.  Couldn't wait to make it.  Fun to stitch the squares.  Gather your scraps to make the squares and presto, before you know it, you have a quilt.

Mary Coombs - One Block Wonder - 44.50" x 59" - Machine Pieced & Machine quilted by Mary Coombs - From a Book by Maxine Rosenthal.

A group of first time sewing friends at a quilt camp in Lakeside, AZ.  Mary Beth made the final placement in the blocks.  This method was hard for me since I like to make a quilt that has specific placement of blocks.  This did not, you placed blocks as you thought made the best design.

PAM MORRISON - BASKETS OF LIBERTY PRINTS - 52" x 52" - Machine pieced by Pam.  Machine quilted by Dorothy Anderson.  Designed by Jackie's Animas Quilts.  Lived in London England for 8 years (1976-1982-1985-1988).  Visited Bond St. many times and bought Liberty prints for blouses.  Never made a blouse!  My dress blouse patterns shrank and that's when I took up quilting, 1992.  I started this quilt in 2004 and as of today, Sept. 98, 2020 the binding just has to be sewn down.

LINDA SHAVER - THE NIEGHBORHOOD - 44" x 44" - Machine pieced and machine quilted by Linda - Designed by Laura Heine & Peggy Larsen for Fiberworks Quilt Pattern "My Kind of Town"
This paper pieced project was started as a sew along with my friend Pam Murphy at their cabin in Show Low one rainy summer day in 2018. I completed in 2019, made some setting modifications - including eliminating a block of storefronts - and quilted it on my domestic machine. Finished in time to enter in our ill fated Quilt Challenge this year.

MARKA LOCKER - MEMORIAL QUILT 1 - NATE WILLIAMS - 76" x 86" Machine applique by Carol Moonan, Machine pieced and machine quilted by Marka Locker.  Designed by Marka Locker.  Memorial quilt commissioned by Lezlee Lenardi for her son Nate Williams, who passed away in 2007 from complications associated with Spina Bifida.  Nat's shirts traveled the world before being made into 2 quilts and are a testament to many of the things he loved in his almost 20 years of life.

CAROLE SCHUMACHER - SALVAGED HEXIES - 74" x 96" - Machine Pieced & Machine Quilted  by Carole.

Original design by Carole Schumacher created over a 2-year period.  I love salvage ends because they are often trashed. I pieced salvages, cut hexagons from these fabrics, combined with coordinating solid fabric to form 56 diamond blocks. My random organization of colors reflect diversity of the discarded.  Thanks to many other quilter friends for donating salvages to me!

ARLENE SIMPSON - BLING AROUND THE RING - 72" x 72" - Machine pieced, machine quilted and designed by Arlene.  I love brights paired with black. I live bling. I had this quilt in design stages in my mind for a long time. It has 3052 Swarovski crystals applied one at a time. It was published in Designs in Machine Embroidery in 2010.

LINDA LABENZ - CONSTELLATIONS - 70" x 80" - Machine pieced & machine quilted by Linda.  Designed by Judy Niemeyer.  Paper pieced, Bluprint kit called Slice of Paradise. Variety of free motion quilting in outer edges of ruler worked circles.

Joann Daurora - Feathered Star   96 x 96 inches.  Pieced by Joann Daurora, Machine quilted by Marty Norton.  Feathered Star Quilt paper piecing pattern by Quiltworx/Judy Niemeyer.  Covid-19 quarantine provided four months to complete this quilt.

JUDY GALLOB - LUSH - 100" x 100" - Machine pieced by Judy.  Machine quilted by Mark Kay Randall.  Designed by Wing and a Prayer.
I Picked this out on line as a Christmas quilt but was not the traditional red and green. It was difficult.

MARKA LOCKER - MEMORIAL QUILT 2 - NATE WILLIAMS - 86" x 96" Machine appliqued by Carol Moonan, Machine Pieced and Machine quilted by Marka Locker.  Designed by Marka Locker.  Memorial quilt commissioned by Lezlee Leonardi for her son Nate Williams, who passed away in 2007 from complications associated with Spina Bifida.  Nate's shirts traveled the world before being made into 2 quilts and are a testament to many of the things he loved in his almost 20 years of life.

PAM MORRISON - "ANASAZI" - 60" x 74" - Machine pieced by Pam.  Machine quilted by Dorothy Anderson.  Designed by Quilting Life Designs #120 by Sherri McConnell.  Started in 2016, machine quilted July 2020 now binding on and will be given to my granddaughter for college.

LINDA LABENZ - CANDY SLICES  - 82" x 82" - Machine pieced & machine quilted by Linda.  Designed by Latina Saafir.
Curved piecing at its best! Note all Candy Slices have a different variety of free motion quilting which are surrounded by curved ruler work. Wool batting makes quilting “pop”.

IRENE LUKES -GREENHOUSE - 60"x70" Machine pieced and machine quilted by Irene Lukes.  Designed by Elizabeth Hartman.  I immediately fell in love with this quilt when I first saw it in Tucson at a quilt store on the way down to the Ritter Ranch Retreat.  I just had to try making it!  I usually have it hanging up on my design wall when I'm not designing on it.

JUDY GALLOB - ANTIQUE LACY - 94" x 94" - Machine pieced by Judy.  Machine Quilted by  MaryKay Randall.  Designed by Missouri Star Quilt Co., Fiorella by RJR studios.  It was easy to do and corners lined up well.

CYNTHIA SCHWARTZ - A DAY AT THE ZOO - 50" x 60" - pictured front & back - Machine pieced, machine quilted and designed by Cynthia.

I love color. This animal fabric is fun and lively. I went to a class with Mary Sabatello to learn how to create a One Block Wonder. Teri Burnett helped me arrange the hexagons on the design wall.

SANDY CRABTREE - Ruler Work (Color Wheel )   62" x 62" - Machine Pieced & Machine Quilted by Sandy Crabtree.  Designed by Janet Collins from her book 'From the First Stitch to the Last'.  From a 3-day quilting workshop based on Janet Collins' design using Westalee Design Templates.

KATHLEEN O'CONNELL - KAFFE SHOWOFF - 49" x 66" - Machine pieced by Kathleen O'Connell and machine quilted by Barb Mauer.  I saw a quilt Barb Mauer made for her granddaughter in a different color way and size.

PAT JENSEN - SUNSET OVER SEDONA - 68" x 80" - Machine pieced by Pat Jensen, Machine quilted by Rose Maynes.  Designed by Laurie Shifriy.  First quilt I made for my new Arizona home.  The colors and style were totally different from what I had in my Minnesota home.   Made to go on couch in family room.

Tori Benz-Hillstrom - Shimmering Triangles - 62" x 77" - Machine pieced by Tori Benz-Hillstrom - Machine Quilted by Jessica Gamez of Cave Creek, AZ and designed by Jenny Bowker.

A fun quilt class I took with friends.  The most challenging part of this pattern is color design.  A design wall is necessary!  Once the focal square are laid out, the journey begins to find the blender fabrics to connect the squares via the triangles.
